Redmi Note 12 camera specifications detailed by new leak
Little is known about the highly-anticipated Redmi Note 12 series of smartphones other than the fact that they could make their debut sometime in Q2 2022. One report suggested that the Redmi Note 12 would be an all-MediaTek show, while another one speculated that one device could use a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. Now, the Weibo stalwart Digital Chat Station (via Abhishek Yadav on Twitter) has some new information about one of the smartphones.
The vanilla Redmi Note 12 will feature a centred hole-punch selfie camera. The rear camera array will be spearheaded by a 50 MP primary sensor. It will likely be accompanied by an 8 MP telephoto lens and 2 MP macro lens. As an entry-level device, it will reuse a lot of design elements of its predecessor, the leak adds. It seems that Redmi wants to deliver a "balanced" experience with the vanilla Redmi Note 12, according to Digital Chat Station.
It'll be interesting to see the specifications differences between the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+. If previous SKUs are anything to go by (and there are a lot of them), they will be marginal, at best. The top-of-the-line Pro+ variant could offer fancy features such as 120 W fast charging and a high-end camera module, but not a whole lot more.
