The INVZI 140 W GaN Charger PD 3.1 is currently crowdfunding on Indiegogo; the campaign has surpassed its target with over 1,500 backers. The company claims it is the world’s smallest 140 W USB-C GaN charger. The compact gadget has three USB-C ports, with 30 W, 100 W and 140 W outputs. If you use all ports simultaneously, the outputs drop to 30 W, 45 W and 65 W, respectively.
INVZI suggests that the device charges twice as fast as a 100 W GaN charger, thanks to the PD 3.1 Protocol. For example, the 140 W charger would take 30 minutes to charge an M1 MacBook Pro 16-in with a MagSafe 3 Cable in 30 minutes.
You can also use the gadget to fast charge the 2022 MacBook Air M2. Plus, INVZI indicates that its charger is 30% smaller than the equivalent Apple charger, measuring 1.29 x 2.95 x 2.95-in (~33 x 75 x 75 mm) and weighing 334 g (~12 oz). The device has optional adapters to suit various regions, including the US, UK, EU and Australia.
You can currently pledge US$59 to receive the INVZI 140 W USB-C GaN Charger, which will ship in July. After the campaign, the device is expected to retail for US$109. A 67 W version of the gadget is also available via Indiegogo for US$25 and will retail for US$49 post-campaign.
