Recent leaks pointing to the imminent launch of the Z9 Turbo Plus might have caused some bemusement among iQOO fans who would have been aware that the brand has already released an Android smartphone with the same MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor. However, a new report might explain the reason for the newer device's allegedly impending existence.

iQOO already has a 2024 flagship for its mid-range Android smartphones in the form of the Z9 Turbo; however, it is rumored to become supplanted by a Plus model (the Turbo+) very soon.

It is rumored to debut with the premium-grade Dimensity 9300+ SoC - which, as the Neo9S Pro already boasts that chipset, might seem an odd choice.

However, it now seems iQOO intends to undercut its own device with the the Turbo+, even though the 2 devices might have 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED displays with the brand's signature advanced 144Hz refresh rate.

Then again, the "Turbo+" is thought to have the same 50+8MP rear cameras as the existing Z9-series flagship, whereas the Neo9S Pro rocks a more up-to-date dual 50MP set-up - with upgraded 8K recording to boot.

Accordingly, the Z9 Turbo+ might be touted as its more cost-effective counterpart - particularly as it is also now rumored to have a new, ultra-large Blue Ocean battery from iQOO parent Vivo to boot.
