iQOO unleashes premium Android smartphone with series' largest battery to date
iQOO asserts that its latest OriginOS 4 (based on Android 14) smartphone can score up to 2,335,110 on the AnTuTu Benchmark - then again, that figure suggests it is powered by the standard edition of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 rather than the latest Leading Edition of the top-end Qualcomm chipset.
Then again, the Neo9S Pro+ augments its flagship silicon with a back-up processor called the Q1 to help keep the device's 6.78-inch 1.5K 144Hz display as smooth in gaming as possible. The panel is also equipped with a "3D ultrasonic" fingerprint reader, touted to be more sensitive, accurate, secure and better-placed than the conventional optical sensor.
The new late-year flagship refresh also has the Sony IMX921, a new OIS-enhanced version of the IMX920 found in other Neo9-series smartphones. Its second rear camera is also 50MP and rated for ultrawide-angle shots. ,
The Neo9S Pro+ also improves on its Dimensity 9300+-powered Pro sibling with the series' first 5,500mAh battery that still, moreover, charges at up to 120W.
It is also the only smartphone of its specs to be finished in Buff Blue, a new version of the two-tone rear panel found in the Neo9 Pro that is available on Amazon.in, although plain Fighting Black and Star White are also options.
The Neo9S Pro+ is competitively priced at 2,999 yuan (~$413) for a 12GB/256GB base model to 4,099 yuan (~$565) for a 16GB/1TB maxed-out SKU - however, its new rival the Realme GT6 still undercuts it on the Chinese market.
