iQOO has made the largest battery it has ever provided for one of its Android smartphones in the final form of its Z9-series flagship. The Turbo Plus (or Turbo+) also boasts an improved durability rating compared to its vanilla counterpart, and challenges its closest Dimensity 9300+/144Hz rival the Redmi K70 Extreme Edition with a reduced starting price for the same specs.

The Z9 Turbo+ has now been unleashed on Vivo's online Chinese store at 2,199 yuan (~$313) for a 12GB RAM/256GB internal storage base model, whereas the Redmi K70 Extreme Edition started at 2,599 yuan (~$370) with the same configuration: in fact, its new iQOO rival's storage can be upgraded to 512GB for the same price - or have its RAM increased to 16GB for 100 yuan (~$14) less.

For those prices, one gets the same Dimensity 9300+ (MediaTek's flagship SoC for Android smartphones - for the present) with support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, not to mention the enhanced 144Hz refresh rate for its display.

Then again, it should be noted that the Z9-series flagship's 6.78-inch 1.5K+ C8 OLED panel is LTPS rather than LTPO, although iQOO strives to make up for that with a 3,840Hz PWM mode and a dedicated Q1 display chip.

The Z9 Turbo+ keeps it on with a battery of a relatively whopping 6,400mAh in typical capacity - thereby leaving its 5,500mAh Redmi rival in the dust. Nevertheless, it is even thinner and lighter than the iPhone 16 Pro Max at 7.9 millimeters (mm) and 196 grams (g) respectively.

iQOO also claims that it can sustain up to 16.4 hours of video streaming (although Apple claims up to 33 hours for its new Pro Max in a similar metric) per charge.

It will be doing that much faster than an iPhone as well, with a top rate of 80W (not much slower than Vivo's impending next-gen flagships, apparently).

The Z9 Turbo+ also boasts an IP65 ingress-protection rating as opposed to IP64 in its non-Plus sibling. It also steers clear of Desert Titanium vibes, however, by coming in Moon Shadow Titanium instead in addition to Starlight White and Midnight Black colorways.
