The performance-focused Android smartphone brand iQOO went to its parent company's 2024 developer conference with its upcoming flagship, according to a new leak. The "13" was apparently confirmed to come with the latest display technology from BOE, rated to make the device brighter yet more power-efficient despite its advanced refresh rate and resolution.

The iQOO 13 has apparently shown its face at its brand parent OEM Vivo's recent Developer Conference (or VDC 2024), flaunting its rumored brand-new display in the process.

The screen apparently owes its "major upgrades" in the areas of brightness, energy-saving and eye protection to the latest luminance technology from display supplier BOE.

It has been introduced at VDC 2024 as Q10, and may be exclusive to the iQOO 13, whereas other premium devices of the near future (the OnePlus 13 included) might make do with its slightly older X2 counterpart.

iQOO has apparently integrated Q10 into a 2K screen with thin bezels on all sides and a minimized selfie camera punch-hole. It is touted to be up to 33% more long-lived despite its high-speed 144Hz refresh rate. Then again, it looks like it might be quad-curved rather than truly flat.

In either case, the potentially class-leading display is believed to be driven by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 "Extreme Edition" SoC and kept on with a battery of at least 6,000mAh in typical capacity, according to the latest leaks.

On that note, the respected tipster Digital Chat Station has once again backed the 13 to charge at up to 120W using an own-brand USB-C power brick that may also support a 100W PD mode for other devices. It may not come in the box with the smartphone.

Finally, the iQOO 13 is also now slated to run the same updated OriginOS 5 software as the upcoming premium Vivo X200 series.
