Honor X60 Pro tipped to launch as durable mid-range Android smartphone with satellite messaging
Honor's next launch event is thought to introduce the X60, a smartphone that might still have a round camera hump, albeit one of a more up-to-date design compared to its predecessor.
It has MATRIX 108MP branding set in a central, vertically-oriented location (in a manner suspiciously similar to images associated with the upcoming Huawei Mate 70 series), although it is apparent that only 2 of its 3 lens inserts will be in use, with the third becoming an additional "AI VISION CAMERA" badge instead.
The new camera disk will be set into rear panels that could be made of either glass or vegan leather, finished in marble-effect blue or orange respectively, according to new renders posted with an X50 for comparison by prolific leaker Digital Chat Station.
The X60 has been said to launch with the typically high-end feature of satellite communications, despite its rumored Snapdragon 6-series chipset. However, the spec might be restricted to messaging rather than calls, and to be exclusive to a top-end "Pro" 12GB RAM/256GB internal storage variant available via China Mobile.
The X60 might also have 8/128GB, 8/256GB and 12/256GB options, advanced durability ratings to at least match those of the X50, a dual punch-hole eye-care display and what might be a larger battery. It is believed to debut next week on October 16, 2024.
