Vivo X200: New photos via the Zeiss main camera and periscope telephoto appear to show a leap in quality
Product manager Han Boxiao published the first sample photo from the Vivo X200 series on Weibo a few days ago, and now there are two. In the photos below, the first was taken with the 23mm equivalent main camera and the second with the 50 MP telephoto via telephoto macro shot. This is the Vivo X200 base model with a 1/1.56 inch sensor, which will be slightly slimmed down compared to the Vivo X200 Pro and Vivo X200 Mini in the main camera and the larger Vivo X200 Pro in the telephoto. We can thus expect slightly better results with the two Pro models.
Vivo and Oppo have different priorities
Although Oppo and Vivo appear to be two sides of the same coin, they do have different focuses, as well-known leaker and blogger Digital Chat Station recently explained on Weibo. Oppo has a prominent camera professional at its disposal in the form of Hasselblad and also utilizes corresponding hardware power with a dual periscope telephoto in the Ultra model. Vivo, on the other hand, focuses primarily on the quality of the optics and on telephoto macro, which can produce better results in individual cases. According to Digital Chat Station, the Sony IMX882 is used in the periscope telephoto model in both Oppo's and Vivo's base model, although the former does not have a floating element for macro shots, but instead uses a thinner and lighter module.
