Vivo X200 spotted with new, AI-enhanced, Dynamic Island-baiting Android skin
The OPPO Find X8 series is thought to debut with a design re-imagined to look as much like the iPhone 16 series (from the front, anyway). Furthermore, the supposedly imminent crop of new smartphones may also vie for Apple fan-child hearts with ColorOS 15, their most cutting-edge version of Android to date.
Unfortunately for the X8 and its siblings, however, the Vivo X200 series is touted to match it in pretty much every respect hardware-wise. Now, the devices are also backed to do battle with the successor to OriginOS 4.
The prolific tech leaker Digital Chat Station has just devoted an entire Weibo article to OriginOS 5, apparently running on the X200 Standard Edition.
The Android skin's UI closely resembles that of ColorOS 15 (and its probable global analog OxygenOS 15) in several ways, albeit with a perhaps heavier emphasis on long screen-spanning widgets and even more colorful icons.
OriginOS 5 also comes with Xiao V Circle Search with text- and image-recognition, pop-up search results and shopping assistance.Circle to Search
However, the best highlights (according to Digital Chat Station) include its new AI-powered Blue Heart Xiao V assistant and the Atomic Island that, like Fluid Cloud, seems to grow out of the display's punch-hole to act as a media control or expanded shortcut for several apps.
It can also be used as a Xiao V Circle Search alternative and as a hub to share text and images. OriginOS 5 is slated to debut on the iQOO 13 as well as the X200 Standard Edition, Pro, Pro Mini and Pro Satellite Edition toward the end of October 2024.
