Tecno expands the Camon 30 family with the launch of the Camon 30S
Another day, another Tecno smartphone. It appears Tecno isn't done with the Camon 30 series as it has unveiled yet another model, this time the Camon 30S. It joins the already announced Camon 30, Camon 30 Premier 5G, Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Pro 5G, and Camon 30S Pro.
The Camon 30S arrives as a cheaper version of the Camon 30S Pro, and that lower price tag results in the loss of some features and a downgrade in other areas.
The Camon 30S has a similar design to its pro sibling, but there are enough differences to tell them apart. The Gorilla Glass-protected display is the same 6.78-inch curved FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,300 nits.
The back is also home to a large circular camera island on the back with engravings of key camera features. However, the red notification LED on the Camon 30S Pro is absent. The phone retains the IP53 dust and water resistance rating and is available in Celestial Black, Dawn Gold, and a color-shifting Nebula Violet that switches to dark blue when outdoors.
The Tecno Camon 30S has a MediaTek Helio G100 processor, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of storage. The display has a notch that houses a 13MP camera with dual flash while the back has a 50MP Sony IMX896 sensor paired with a 2MP depth camera.
Tecno has kept the battery capacity at 5,000mAh, but unlike the Camon 30S Pro which charges at up to 45W in wired mode and up to 20W using a wireless charger (magnetic charging available via a case), the Camon 30 charges at 33W in wired mode. It also has an under-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, stereo speakers, an FM Radio, and Dolby Atmos.
Tecno ships the Camon 30S with Android 14 and a handful of AI features such as an object eraser, text generator, image generator, and an AI translator.
The Tecno Camon 30S is available to buy in Pakistan now for PKR 59,999 (~$216/€198) for the 8GB RAM and 256GB version. The 6+128GB and 8+128GB versions are not available to buy yet.
