The latest Camon 40-series leak once again hints that Tecno has indeed dropped the OnePlus 13-esque camera hump of their predecessors - although the brand has apparently adopted the Oppo Find X8 Pro's style instead for the line's flagship.
Accordingly, the smartphone has a single round camera hump set into the middle of its rear panel's upper half. It houses 4 lenses in the conventional stove-top lay-out, 1 of which is square.
Therefore, it seems that the Camon 40 Premier (or Tecno CM8, as it now registers on the FCC database) will reprise the periscope zoom lens of its predecessor. It is touted to achieve "60x Zoom" in the 30 Premier (now available for INR 29,999 (~$347) on amazon.in), although that figure is digital rather than optical; it remains to be seen if the 40 Premier can improve on its line's camera specs.
It is more certain that the 40 Premier might be able to debut with 12GB of RAM and at least 256GB of internal storage at this point. It is also likely to debut with 70W Flash Charging, which, while not upgraded compared to the 30 Premier, may still be able to compete with most devices in its market segment (except for the Realme 14 Pro+, of course).
There is no sign of a battery upgrade for the 40 Premier to date. Meanwhile, the Tecno CM6 (or "40 4G") has been certified by Thailand's NBTC, and may, as such, be poised to launch very soon.
