Tecno is now believed to have next-generation Camon-series smartphones in the works, although they will seemingly have triple rear cameras in a vertical orientation rather than the OnePlus 13-like look of the 30 5G (now starting at INR 22,999 (~$269) on Amazon.in).
Accordingly, the "Camon 40" series might look more like the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, although their rear panels are depicted as having an asymmetrical two-toned look on their new Federal Communications Commission (FCC) listings.
They certify that 2 new Tecno smartphones called the CM5 and CM6 support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and 4G/LTE bands, but not 5G, thereby suggesting that they will launch as the vanilla Camon 40 and 40 Pro respectively.
If so, it is just as well that they have ditched the flagship OnePlus look, as their batteries have undergone mild upgrades to 5,200mAh at best. In addition, they are now thought to have 45W wired charging, even though Tecno has faster 70W technology on hand.
The Camon 40 series is thought to have more variants such as the CM7 and CM8 (possibly successors to devices such as the 30 Pro 5G and Premier 5G), although they have yet to appear on the FCC database.
