Tecno launches entry-level Spark 30C 5G smartphone with MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC

Tecno has expanded its Spark 30 series portfolio with the launch of a new entry-level smartphone - the Spark 30C 5G. This new 5G-enabled smartphone joins the already announced Spark 30, Spark 30 5G, Spark 30 Pro, and 30 Pro Transformer Limited Edition. Tecno packs a range of impressive features into the new Spark despite keeping the price rather modest.

The Spark 30C 5G has a 6.67-inch Dot-In HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate support. The company added a dynamic port feature similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island for notifications around the punch-hole camera.

It packs the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 octa-core chipset based on a 6nm process coupled with the Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU for handling casual gaming sessions. The smartphone comes equipped with 4GB of RAM with an additional 4GB of virtual RAM and 64GB or 128GB storage options, further expandable via a microSD card slot.

The back of the Spark 30C 5G houses a 48MP Sony IMX582-powered primary camera and a secondary 'AI camera'. There’s an LED light ring next to the camera module for capturing good low-light photos. On the front, it has an 8MP centered punch-hole camera.

The 5G smartphone boasts a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W charging. It runs Tecno’s latest HiOS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box. There is no word on software support from Tecno, indicating newer Android releases may never arrive.

In terms of dimensions, the device weighs 182 grams (6.42 oz) and measures 165 x 77 x 8mm. Other highlights include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP54 dust and splash resistance, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and NFC.

The Tecno Spark 30C 5G is priced at INR 9,999 (~$119) for the base 4GB + 64GB model while the 4GB + 128GB variant retails for INR 10,499 (~$125). It comes in Aurora Cloud, Azure Sky, and Midnight Shadow color options. The smartphone is now available for purchase via Flipkart in India.
