Although these rankings and camera tests are often criticized, DxOMark is one of the most prominent test labs in the camera and smartphone segment. The latest review of the Vivo X200 Ultra has just been published, and it immediately takes one of the top spots in the ranking of the best camera flagships. It narrowly misses first place, but with a total score of 167 points, it’s just two points behind the leading Oppo Find X8 Ultra.
This means the current Zeiss camera flagship has managed to overtake the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max, Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Xiaomi 15 Ultra with its Leica camera. In DxOMark’s zoom test, the Vivo X200 Ultra even takes the lead over all other camera flagships. A closer look at the scores of the Vivo X200 Ultra and the Find X8 Ultra reveals that the Oppo phone scored a few more points in portraits, indoor shots, outdoor shots, and lowlight photography. That said, the differences are rather marginal.
Pros and cons of the Vivo X200 Ultra
The testers further praise the excellent exposure in portrait photos and good detail and accurate autofocus in daylight and indoors. The ultrawide-angle camera also impresses with a high level of detail in low light, which was also observed in zoom shots up to about 10x. In terms of video recordings, the reviewers appreciate the appropriate exposure and well-performing autofocus.
However, DxOMark criticizes slight inaccuracies when it comes to white balance and autofocus in low-light scenes as well as daylight videos. In low-light video recordings, the camera experts noted the loss of detail and increased noise. Halo artifacts were also observed occasionally.
