Official: Vivo X200 Ultra launch date confirmed alongside first press photo

Vivo already announced plans to launch its latest products, led by the Vivo X200 Ultra, in April. The official release date has now been revealed. On 21 April 2025, the highly anticipated Zeiss camera flagship will hit the shelves in China, accompanied by the Vivo X200s, Vivo Watch 5, Vivo Pad 5 Pro and the entry-level Vivo Pad SE.

Unsurprisingly, the spotlight is on the Vivo X200 Ultra, recently featured in the first leaked hands-on video. Its camera bump looks downright massive compared with the much more understated module on the X200s. There are certainly reasons for the hefty design: Plenty of depth is required to accommodate two 1/1.28-inch sensors for the 35 mm main shooter and 14 mm ultrawide camera, as well as the most light-sensitive telephoto lens ever installed in a phone.

Vivo product manager Han Bo Xiao, who was first to share the official press photo, highlighted some other benefits of the substantial camera bump. For instance, it provides a comfortable spot to rest the index finger when the device is held in portrait orientation. In landscape mode, photography enthusiasts will also appreciate the built-in shutter button on the right side, located lower down compared to an iPhone’s Camera Control button.
