MediaTek is expected to officially launch the Dimensity 9400+ on April 11. The unreleased chipset will be adopted by companies like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo, and has already appeared in hands-on tests aboard the Vivo X200s before the debut of the flagship phone.
As tested by Geekerwan, the Dimensity 9400+ on the Vivo X200s trades blows with the Snapdragon 8 Elite on Geekbench. The phone earns a single-core score of 2,949, and a multi-core score of 9,258. Both of those numbers are well within the range of our tested Snapdragon 8 Elite devices. It matches the Xiaomi 15 (buy on Amazon) and flat-out outperforms a phone like the Realme GT7 Pro.
While the Snapdragon 8 Elite outdid the standard Dimensity 9400 in CPU tests, that advantage appears to have been erased with the Dimensity 9400+. That is, of course, thanks to the Cortex-X925 core running at 3.7 GHz on the new chipset versus its 3.63 GHz clock speed on the Dimensity 9400.
The GPU on the Dimensity 9400+ remains unchanged. It's the same Immortalis G925-MC12 running at 1,612MHz on the Dimensity 9400. As such, no major performance differences can be expected. The Vivo X200s does manage to draw slightly less power than the Dimensity 9400-powered Vivo X200 when playing most games. It runs a tad cooler, too, even cooler than the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
