MediaTek is set to launch a new chipset in the coming weeks. The Taiwanese company will bring the Dimensity 9400+ to the market in early April, and that chipset has now made an appearance on a benchmark listing.
The upcoming Dimensity 9400+ has now been listed on ETH Zurich's AI benchmark ranking, with two devices, Oppo's imminent Find X8s and Find X8s+ sitting at the top of the leaderboard, ahead of Snapdragon 8 Elite phones. The Find X8s records an AI score of 12,975; the OnePlus 13 (buy on Amazon) is the highest Snapdragon 8 Elite device on the list and scores 12,376.
While the Dimensity 9400+, thanks to its overclocked cores, is widely expected to offer better CPU performance than the standard Dimensity 9400, it also looks set to deliver significantly better AI performance—although it's hard to say how that improves typical use cases. Unfortunately, despite its enhanced CPU performance, the Dimensity 9400+ may still fall short of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, with leaked Geekbench scores of the Oppo Find X8s+ indicating that the Qualcomm chipset still has the upper hand in that regard.
