Vivo executive Han Bo Xiao has highlighted more features of the company's next camera-focused flagship smartphone. For context, only a few days have passed since the same executive pitted the X200 Ultra against a DSLR and an iPhone 16 Pro Max (curr. $1,021 - refurbished on Amazon) in low-light conditions.
This time, Han Bo Xiao has switched to videography capabilities. While the executive has dropped the DSLR in their latest comparison, the iPhone 16 Pro Max remains. In short, videography is one of the iPhone's greatest strengths, particularly compared with recent Android alternatives.
Based on the video below, the X200 Ultra may surpass the iPhone 16 Pro Max in at least one area here, though. According to Han Bo Xiao, the comparison video was captured using the pair's ultra-wide-angle cameras. Although not necessarily representative of how someone would typically shoot a video, the ultra-wide-angle camera in the X200 Ultra appears to offer superior image stabilisation than the equivalent inside the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Han Bo Xiao suggests that this could be because Vivo has optically stabilised (OIS) the ultra-wide-angle camera on the X200 Ultra, which the iPhone 16 Pro Max missed out on. As it stands, the X200 Ultra will be the only smartphone to launch with OIS across all its rear-facing cameras. The trio will also support the 10-bit log format while shooting in 4K and up to 120 FPS. Vivo is expected to release the X200 Ultra next month after Oppo introduces the Find X8 Ultra.
