Not all Sony Xperia 1 VII rumors are equal and fortunately we have at least one that comes from a respected source, if not two. They come from an Esato forum user known as spektykles, who is considered one of the better tipsters in the Sony Xperia community, especially as former champion leaker Zackbuks has been quiet as of late. The source has made two new posts on the forum, one directly concerning the Xperia 1 VII while the other could be related to the phone or another Sony device entirely.
Starting with the Xperia 1 VII news, spektykles said “at least new device have ~1/2” tele sensor” [sic] when discussing the likelihood of the Mark 7 Xperia 1 coming with all Exmor T sensors or not. It’s not an exact measurement, as the tilde symbol (~) is used to signify an approximate amount here, but it will still be an improvement over the telephoto sensor used in the Sony Xperia 1 VI (available on Amazon). The older phone has a 1/3.5” Exmor RS for mobile sensor in the telephoto camera, so this is potentially a major upgrade for the Sony Xperia 1 VII. A larger sensor will allow for improvements in image quality and enhanced performance in low light.
As for the Walkman-related post, the source simply stated “welcome back, Walkman” along with the classic Sony Ericsson “liquid energy” logo. As the thread is for Sony Xperia rumors in 2025, it possibly is not actually related to the Walkman devices that Sony still produces. However, it is unclear if the comment is pointing to a full-on Sony Xperia Walkman phone (and not a fake one) or just an enhancement to the current Sony Music Center app. The addition of the Sony Ericsson logo may be a clue or a tease, as the W-Series of Walkman phones were released under that brand, or it might just be a red herring.
