Sony is set to release its next flagship smartphone soon. This device, the Xperia 1 VII, will succeed last year's Xperia 1 VI, and now appears to have been leaked in full ahead of its debut.
As revealed by reliable leaker Chunvn8888 citing a private Xperia Group on Facebook, the Xperia 1 VII is set to feature a FHD+ OLED screen in a 19.5:9 ratio, and a Snapdragon 8 Elite. A 3.5mm jack is present too, along with significant Walkman-tuned hardware and software upgrades for improved audio quality.
Other leaked features and upgrades include a two times larger telephoto sensor, up to 5 hours better battery life than the Xperia 1 VI, and new camera AI features.
The Sony Xperia 1 VII is expected to launch on May 15 globally, with sales to begin in Japan and Taiwan right after. Fans in South-East Asia may have to wait till July, however. Unfortunately, the prospects of a US release remain unknown. Lastly, the Xperia 1 VII is said to be priced at the equivalent of around $1400, and will be available in three color options: Black, Purple, and Khaki Green.
