There have been plenty of rumours lately about OnePlus and Oppo releasing new 'compact' flagship smartphones. Of the two, the Find X8S is expected to also serve as a showcase for the Dimensity 9400+, MediaTek's new flagship mobile chipset. While nothing is official just yet, the chipset manufacturer appears to have set the date for the chipset's official launch.
As the screenshot below shows, MediaTek has now revealed that the 2025 edition of its Dimensity Developer Conference will take place on April 11. Although the flyer does not offer any hints about MediaTek's plans for MDDC 2025, previous incarnations do.
For instance, MediaTek used MDDC 2024 to present the Dimensity 9300+. Given recent rumours about the Dimensity 9400+, it is not a stretch that the company will return to this year's conference with a Dimensity 9300+ successor. Based on current expectations, the Dimensity 9400+ will surpass the existing Dimensity 9400 with a faster ARM Cortex-X925 super core.
Allegedly, MediaTek has upped the Cortex-X925 from 3.62 GHz to 3.7 GHz, which would represent a mere 2.2% overclock. Last year's release of the Dimensity 9300+ suggests that the Dimensity 9400+ will bring other minor advancements to the table too, though. The Dimensity 9400+ is anticipated to debut in the Find X8S and the larger Find X8S Plus before the end of April as foils to Snapdragon flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus (curr. $919.99 on Amazon).
