Samsung has officially showcased the Galaxy S25 series at the first Unpacked event for 2025. Among the three new phones is the Galaxy S25+, and like the non-Plus sibling, it didn't see many hardware upgrades when compared to the predecessor. To be specific, the only major hardware upgrade is the custom Snapdragon 8 Elite.
It's called Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, and while Samsung has yet to detail the specific change when compared to the regular version of the SoC, it's expected to be an overclocked variant. This should lead to better performance under load, and the company says that the improved ray tracing capabilities and the Vulkan Engine will lead to a better gaming experience.
As for the camera setup, it stays the same as the Galaxy S24 Plus. So, the back still has a 50MP primary sensor that's paired with 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto. On the front, it sports a 12MP selfie shooter. Samsung claims that all the Galaxy S25 series phones, including the S25+, are more capable than their predecessors in capturing low-light videos and photos.
The general photography performance is also said to have seen an upgrade due to software enhancements. Speaking of which, like the other phones in the new lineup, the Galaxy S25 Plus has many "personalized AI features" that are powered by the Personal Data Engine. They aim to offer a tailored user experience.
Other highlights of the Galaxy S25 Plus include a 4,900mAh battery with support for QC 2.0 and Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, a 6.7-inch QHD+ display, 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, One UI 7, and a slightly lighter build than the predecessor. The launch pricing in the EU starts at €1,149, which is the same as the S24+.
