Nothing has published its first teaser for what is expected to be its next smartphone. Potentially, the Nothing 'Arcanine' could compete with Xiaomi's Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus, which it now offers globally.

Nothing has begun teasing a product, six months after releasing the Phone (2a) Plus (curr. $404 on Amazon). The company has begun with a cryptic teaser to start with, evidence of which we have embedded below. The teaser contains nothing obvious in of itself. Instead it appears to show a facsimile of Arcanine, the 59th Pokémon in the original Pokédex.

The teaser has left people have speculating that the name or its position in the Pokédex are clues about the date of Nothing's upcoming launch event, which would generate dates ranging between February 10, February 28 or March 21 depending on your interpretation.

Alternatively, Arcanine could be the codename for Nothing's next smartphone. To that end, a device bearing the model number 'Nothing A059' surfaced on Geekbench in November with specifications matching Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. Incidentally, this is the same chipset that powers Xiaomi's Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus. As a result, leaker Sudhanshu Ambhore speculates that the teaser relates to the Phone (3a) or Phone (3a) Plus, and not the long-awaited Nothing Phone (3).
