The Xiaomi 15 series is not available globally yet, despite debuting a month after its Redmi Note 14 counterparts that can now be picked up in multiple markets. Instead, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra (curr. $1,035 on Amazon) remain the company's most recent flagship releases outside China.
Nonetheless, Xiaomi has now decided to refresh the Xiaomi 15 with a new colour option. As with the Nubia Z70 Ultra New Year Edition, Xiaomi's new release is to mark Chinese New Year, which falls on January 29 this year. While ZTE opted for an 'orange star' makeover of its recent flagship, Xiaomi has re-skinned the Xiaomi 15 in a colour that bears more than a passing resemblance to the Brilliant Magenta version of the SU7 that debuted a few weeks ago.
The Xiaomi 15 New Year's Flavour comes in a single Carmine Red colour option that appears restricted to its back panel. Likewise, the limited edition handset is available exclusively with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage priced at CNY 4,999 (~$686). The link to a specific national holiday implies that the Xiaomi 15 New Year's Gift will remain exclusive to China indefinitely, save for being offered by third-party importers.
