ZTE released the Nubia Z70 Ultra less than two months ago. Nonetheless, the company has already sought to refresh the device, which starts at $749 in the US. Specifically, the Nubia Z70 Ultra will soon now be available as the Nubia Z70 Ultra New Year Edition to commemorate the Chinese New Year.
The New Year Edition will be available in a single colourway that blends a silver frame with an orange faux leather back. Befitting a limited edition model, Nubia will also include a complimentary smartwatch, an elaborate box and a unique case that is unlikely to ever be sold separately.
Fundamentally, the New Year Edition is the same device as the regular Nubia Z70 Ultra. As such, the former combines a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with a 6.85-inch AMOLED display and a 6,150 mAh silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery. Moreover, the Nubia Z70 Ultra New Year Edition contains a primary camera that delivers not only an f/1.59-f/4 variable aperture but also a 35 mm full frame equivalent focal length.
The New Year Edition has only been unveiled in China so far, where it will go on sale in three days' time. ZTE has not yet revealed availability in other markets. There is no guarantee that this will occur though, despite the global release that the Nubia Z70 Ultra received in November.
