Word of the Snapdragon 8s Elite surfaced a few days ago, providing insight into the chipset's performance and configuration. The upcoming sub-premium SoC has now made the trip over to Geekbench, revealing even more information ahead of its debut.
Courtesy of a listing alleged to be of the iQoo Z10 Turbo, the Snapdragon 8s Elite can be seen with a core configuration identical to last year's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Listed are a single prime core running at 3.21 GHz, three cores at 3.01 GHz, two cores at 2.80 GHz, and two cores at 2.20 GHz. Presumably, the prime core is a Cortex-X4, the second and third batch of cores are Cortex-A720 cores, and the final duo of low-frequency cores are Cortex-A520 cores.
If those frequencies are anything to go by, the Snapdragon 8s Elite will deliver slightly worse CPU performance than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. After all, all of its core clusters run at lower clock speeds than on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The listed scores corroborate that idea, as the phone earns a single-core score of 1,967 and a multi-core score of 5,827. Comparatively, on our database, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 averages 2,106 and 6,638 on those respective tests. Lastly, the listing also reveals the presence of Android 15, 12 GB of RAM, and an Adreno 825 GPU.
According to Digital Chat Station, the scores and frequencies are only representative of the current version of the Snapdragon 8s Elite. As such, the final version of the chipset may arrive with even better performance. The Snapdragon 8s Elite is expected to be widely adopted by OEMs like Oppo and Xiaomi, with the Poco F7 and Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro currently billed to feature the chipset. A March or April debut is likely.
