Qualcomm looks set to debut its next sub-premium chipset shortly. The company launched the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 back in March last year and can be expected to bring a direct successor to the market in the coming weeks, with a new leak now revealing details about the SoC yet again.
As shared by leaker Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 8s Elite is billed to arrive as an octa-core chipset with four core clusters. Leading the line is a prime core clocked at 3.21 GHz, and three performance cores running at 3.01 GHz. Supposedly, the prime core is a Cortex-X4, while the other three performance cores are Cortex-A720 cores. Joining them will be two cores running at 2.80 GHz, and a further two cores at 2.02 GHz. An Adreno 825 is said to reside on the GPU side.
Those core configuration details directly corroborate a previous benchmark sighting of the Snapdragon 8s Elite aboard a device judged to be the iQOO Z10 Turbo. It's unknown when exactly Qualcomm will take the wraps off the Snapdragon 8s Elite but an April launch can be expected, seeing as a phone like the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro is widely reported to be scheduled to launch in April featuring the same chipset.
