Xiaomi has a new batch of Poco F series smartphones on the way. Officially, the company has only acknowledged the existence of the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra. As we have discussed separately, Xiaomi will effectively replicate last year's twin-track launch of the Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro (curr. $429 on Amazon), which are less than a year old.
As a result, it seemed that Xiaomi would not be offering a straight successor to the Poco F6. More recent rumours suggest that may not be the case in all markets, though. Instead, an increasing number of sources insist that Xiaomi has developed the Poco F7 5G, but only for India where the brand is particularly popular.
A recent tweet by a Poco Global executive appears to imply that a cheaper Poco F smartphone is in the works too; leaks indicate that the Poco F7 Pro may start at over €500 (~$550) in the Eurozone. Allegedly, the Poco F7 5G could be a re-branded Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which is tipped to arrive later this year sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Elite chipset aided by LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage.
The two devices are also rumoured to contain a 7,500 mAh battery capable of 90 W wired charging and a circa 6.8-inch OLED display with a 1440p resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. A Sony LYT-600 sensor is claimed to be on hand to serve as the Poco F7 5G's primary camera too, complemented by 8 MP ultra-wide-angle and 20 MP (OmniVision OV20B) front-facing cameras. Although a launch date has not emerged yet, leaker Paras Guglani believes the Poco F7 5G will be joining one of the Poco F7 Pro or Poco F7 Ultra during a simultaneous Indian launch event.
