Xiaomi has revealed fresh details about its next Poco F series smartphones, roughly 24 hours after confirming the launch date for the successors to last year's Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro (curr. $429 on Amazon). To recap, the company announced yesterday that it would be replacing the Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro globally on March 27 with the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra.
Now, it has confirmed that the Poco F7 Pro will leverage Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which underpinned the company's last-generation flagships lke the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Ultimately, the chipset is no slouch despite having been surpassed by newer alternatives. Nonetheless, Xiaomi stresses that it has employed 'Smart Frame Rate' and version 4.0 of its WildBoost Optimisation to ensure gameplay remains 'buttery smooth and highly responsive.
As an example of that, the company claims that the Poco F7 Pro should hit 90 FPS in Genshin Impact. So far, Xiaomi has outlined that this frame rate should be achieved when playing Genshin Impact natively at 1440p (2K). Unfortunately, it has not disclosed the graphics quality settings used to reach 90 FPS.
