Redmi's next major Android smartphone launch will be for the long-anticipated Pro version of the Turbo 4, according to a new leak. It is poised to outdo its vanilla counterpart in several important respects, its battery size included. The 4 Pro is now thought to be the first in a line of Xiaomi mobile devices with various potentially desirable, high-performance upgrades in 2025.

Redmi's Turbo 4 made a splash in the mid-range Android smartphone market as the first device to launch with the Dimensity 8400 processor from MediaTek.

Its supposedly upcoming Pro sibling is projected to do the same in its segment as the world's first Snapdragon 8s Elite-powered handset - especially if it debuts in April 2025 as its latest rumors suggest.

It is backed to appeal to a "younger" audience with up-to-date build quality to go with its allegedly heightened performance. The Turbo 4 Pro is also tipped to launch as an on-trend battery monster, with a capacity that could be measured at as much as 7,500mAh, compared to 6,000mAh in the vanilla 4.

Accordingly, should it launch soon as rumored, it could give the Realme Neo 7 a nasty headache on its debut. The handset is tipped to launch with a markedly large 6.8-inch display, whereas the Civi 5 Pro might follow it onto the Chinese market with a smaller display but with the same new Qualcomm silicon.

On that note, there are no solid indications that the 4 Pro might launch internationally thereafter, although the Turbo 4 has  become available on Amazon as the Poco X7 Pro (now starting at $384.99).

In any case, the Turbo 4 Pro is expected to become part of a 2025 line-up that is also tipped to include the Redmi K80 Ultra - and earlier than expected too, apparently, followed by its K90-series successors later in the year.
