Xiaomi is reportedly launching a new mid-range smartphone soon. The Redmi Note 14S is expected to cost around $250, and Winfuture has already obtained some intriguing details about the upcoming Xiaomi device, which appears to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13 Pro.
Compared to the Redmi Note 14 Pro (from $314 on Amazon), buyers will have to live with a slower processor, as the Redmi Note 14S is powered by the well-known MediaTek Helio G99 with only two Cortex-A76 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. However, the smartphone is also expected to feature a modern 120Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, a decent 8GB of RAM and 256GB of mass storage.
The highlight on the leaked spec sheet is arguably the main camera, which is said to use a 200MP sensor with a bright f/1.4 lens and optical image stabilization. This would make it brighter than the main camera of the Redmi Note 14 Pro, but a smaller sensor could be used as well. Additionally, Xiaomi is rumored to opt for an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro camera.
Meanwhile, the 16MP selfie camera sits in a punch-hole, and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14S can record 4K video. Furthermore, the 5,000mAh battery can be charged with up to 67 watts, but the phone lacks support for wireless charging. This would mean that the overall specifications of the Redmi Note 14S are almost identical to the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G, even though the smartphone might receive a fresh exterior design with a rectangular camera bump.
