Xiaomi claims to have reached a milestone with its Redmi K80 series, which it launched last November in two variants. To recap, the Redmi K80 arrived sporting a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which Xiaomi complemented with a huge 6,550 mAh battery. In comparison, the Redmi K80 Pro makes do with a smaller 6,000 mAh combined capacity, albeit with a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
According to a new Weibo post, the company has now sold more than 3.6 million units within 100 days of launching both devices, as well as the latter's Automobili Lamborghini Squadra Corse Special Edition of the Redmi K80 Pro. Strictly speaking, only 99 days has passed since Xiaomi officially released the Redmi K80 series. Nonetheless, Xiaomi has already decided to brag about the Redmi K80 series' successes online.
Based on recent leaks and rumours, the company may soon complement the Redmi K80 and Redmi K80 Pro with the Redmi K80 Gaming and Redmi K80 Ultra, albeit only in China. By contrast, Xiaomi is expected to eventually bring the Redmi K80 series to global audiences under its Poco sub-brand. Replacing the Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro (curr. $429 on Amazon), the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra may not be joined by a cheaper Poco F7 model if recent leaks are accurate.
