It has been a few months since the Redmi Note 14 series got a global release. Now, Xiaomi (read Redmi) has announced the Redmi Note 14S, and if you think this is a sort of mid-cycle refresh, you are mistaken as it is actually based on the Redmi Note 13 4G, albeit with a new look.
The Redmi Note 14S is a 4G smartphone that has made its debut in the Czech Republic and Ukraine, and it has a design that sets it apart from that of its siblings. Sporting a flat display, a centered punch hole, a flat frame, and a flat black, Redmi says the front is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It also has an IP64 dust and water resistance rating, and is available in Black, Blue, and Purple.
The Redmi 14S has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Powered by the Helio G99-Ultra, there's 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. It also has a 200MP primary rear camera paired with an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and a 2MP macro camera while a 16MP camera sits in front for selfies and video calls.
The phone has a hybrid SIM slot, allowing users to choose between having two SIM cards or a single SIM and a MicroSD card. It also has Bluetooth 5.2, an infrared blaster, NFC, stereo speakers, and an audio jack that sits at the top. It runs HyperOS but the product listing surprisingly doesn't say what version of Android it is based on. The Redmi Note 14S has a 5,000mAh battery capacity with support for 67W fast charging, although buyers will have to purchase a charger separately.
In the Czech Republic, the Redmi Note 14S is priced at CZK 5,999 (~$261/€240) and can be ordered from the Mi Store, while those in Ukraine can grab it for UAH 10,999 (~$265/€243) on Allo.ua.
