Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G launches globally with 200 MP camera and downgraded battery
The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G is one of five smartphones that Xiaomi has launched today globally, less than 24 hours after presenting the Poco X7, Poco X7 Pro and Poco X7 Pro Iron Man Edition. For reference, the company's other releases today are the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G, Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G and two versions of the Redmi Note 14 apiece.
On the face of it, the global version of the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G looks identical to the version that Xiaomi launched last month in India. As such, the former features a pronounced camera housing with three rear-facing sensors and a curved AMOLED display that measures 6.67-inches across. The latter still outputs at 2,712 x 1,220 (1.5K) with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness too, just like the Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G.

However, it seems that Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G with the same primary camera as last year's Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G (curr. $289.50 on Amazon) for its full global release. In other words, the device has a 200 MP and optically stabilised sensor at its disposal with a 1/1.4-inch sensor size and an f/1.65 aperture, compared to the 50 MP, 1/1.96-inch and f/1.5 aperture sensor found in previous Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G releases.
All other camera hardware remains unchanged though, as does 45 W wired charging capabilities and a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has swapped the 5,500 mAh silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery found in other Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G variants for a lesser 5,110 mAh battery. The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G will go on sale from January 15 with a starting price of £299 and €399.90 (~$412) for its 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage variant. Alternatively, the device will be available with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, but for a €50 (~$52) surcharge in the Eurozone.
