Xiaomi releases Redmi Note 14 5G globally with same 108 MP camera as older Redmi Note 13 5G
Xiaomi has brought the Redmi Note 14 5G to global audiences as part of today's full Redmi Note 14 series launch including new 4G models. While the Redmi Note 14 4G and Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G are on their first releases, the Redmi Note 14 5G is actually on its third. More confusingly, Xiaomi has changed the device's hardware in one or another for each release.
To recap, Xiaomi added an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and brought in a new front-facing sensor for last month's launch in India. Although these cameras remain, the Sony LYT-600 and its 50 MP native output has been dropped in favour of a 108 MP optically stabilised sensor that has a larger sensor size (1/1.67-inch) but smaller pixels (0.64 µm). In other words, Xiaomi has carried across the camera it used in last year's Redmi Note 13 5G (curr. $217 on Amazon).
