After sending out the Android 15 update to its current-gen flagship, the Xperia 1 VI, months ago, Sony has now set its sights on its 2023 flagship, the Xperia 1 V. The company has begun rolling out the stable Android 15 update to Xperia 1 V owners.
As first reported by YTECHB, the update is now rolling out across Europe and the US. The OTA, with the version number "67.2.A.2.41", weighs in at just 1061.5 MB—a testament to how light Sony's UI is. Sony has officially listed the changes the update will bring to the Xperia 1 V, namely:
- Private Space
- New Wallpaper and Style settings changes
- Home screen color contrast
- New Quick Settings and Notifications panels
- Screenshot from Quick Settings
- Broadcasting (Audio sharing)
Users have also confirmed the addition of a setting for full-resolution display, pegging the Xperia 1 V at its full, native 1644 x 3840 resolution. On a side note, while some rumors indicate the Android 15 update is also being seeded to the Xperia 5 V, that seems to be untrue, with most Xperia 5 V users yet to receive the update at the time of publishing. We'll keep you updated on that, however.
