One can only hope that Vivo will change its mind. Oppo is said to be considering an official launch of its Oppo Find X8 Ultra, expected in spring 2025, outside of China. No such rumors regarding Vivo's X200 Ultra have surfaced thus far. The successor to the Vivo X100 Ultra will be exciting in any case, as there is plenty of news for mobile camera fans who want a little more camera functionality than what the Vivo X200 Pro currently offers.
For the first time, Vivo is supposedly installing a native, equivalent 35mm focal length in the X200 Ultra, as a leaker recently revealed. The ultra-wide-angle camera is also expected to feature the same 1/1.3 inch LYT-818 sensor as the main camera in addition to a reportedly improved version of the 1/1.4 inch 200 MP telephoto, which is now also in the Vivo X200 Pro. All of this will be combined with a new video feature that Vivo has apparently (finally) copied from Sony.
The Sony Xperia flagships, such as the current Xperia 1 VI (available here at Amazon), have long been capable of recording 4K120 slow motion videos with all three cameras, which is exactly what should now be possible with the Vivo X200 Ultra, as Digital Chat Station recently revealed via Weibo (see screenshot below). In addition to OIS and large aperture values on all cameras, a new version of the Vivo ISP is also set to premiere in the Vivo X200 Ultra, likely named Vivo V4 or possibly Vivo V5, following the V3+.
