The Vivo X300 Pro and the more compact Vivo X300 have just been unveiled in China, but the global launch is happening a bit earlier this time around. Vivo fans will not have to wait until January 2026 to get a hold of the global variant, as was the case in previous years. Users will be able to buy the new handset as early as next month, as officially confirmed by Vivo.
We have another indication of a faster launch outside of China, because more global influencers and journalists attended the launch event in Shanghai this time than ever before, and some have already received global review units. One example is Ben Sin from Ben's Gadget Reviews Channel, whose hands-on video is embedded below.
His nearly 12-minute video kicks off with an unboxing of the Vivo X300 Pro, including the camera kit and teleconverter. He then explains some technical specifications compared to the Vivo X200 Pro and the Vivo X200 Ultra, and continues to show some photos he took for comparison. Things get interesting for global Vivo fans starting at the 8:15 mark when he discusses the operating system, which is now carrying the same OriginOS 6 moniker as in China.
European Vivo X300 Pro gets 5,440mAh instead of 6,510mAh
The screenshot above already reveals a drawback of the European Vivo X300 Pro, which is addressed in the video starting at the 9:50 mark. In contrast to the China model with 6,510mAh of battery capacity, the EU model only offers 5,440mAh, which is significantly less. As explained in a conversation with Vivo and industry representatives, this is primarily due to a European transport regulation that mandates a maximum limit of 20Wh for single-cell batteries, similar to the United States.
The Vivo X200 Pro has a battery size of 5,200mAh compared to 6,000mAh in China. The gain of just 240mAh in the Vivo X300 Pro is simply disappointing for European consumers. However, Vivo is not the only brand with this issue and could only work around it by using a thicker two-cell battery, in case there aren’t any changes in legislation.
