In recent years, Vivo has made a name for itself with high-quality camera smartphones: Thanks to its partnership with optics expert Zeiss and advanced algorithms, its top-of-the-line models have also performed impressively in our reviews.
Most recently, we took a look at the Vivo X300 FE , a slightly more affordable and compact model in the series that’s available for well under US$ 1,100. This raised the question of whether it even makes sense to spend up to US$ 2,000 on the Vivo X300 Ultra when there are significantly more affordable models from the same manufacturer.
Photo Comparison of the X300 Family
So let’s take a look at and compare the photo quality of the four currently available Vivo X300 models: These are the Vivo X300, which costs around US$ 850; the Vivo X300 FE, which costs US$ 1,000; the Vivo X300 Pro, which costs just over US$ 1,100, and the top-of-the-line Vivo X300 Ultra, which is priced at nearly US$ 2,000 on the manufacturer’s website.
If you look at our test photos featuring floral motifs taken in daylight, the differences are indeed hard to spot at first glance: All four models produce very sharp and detailed photos.
Low-Light Photos with the Vivo X300 Models
Even in low light, all four models perform at a very high level, with good dynamic range and sharpness.
As for the main cameras, the differences seem to be minimal, and the X300 Ultra's advantages lie more in its slightly longer optical zoom range than in standard photos.
Conclusion
Our brief photo comparison didn't reveal any major differences in the camera images from the Vivo X300 Ultra and the significantly less expensive X300 or X300 FE. So photography enthusiasts can also opt for the significantly more affordable models, especially if they’re looking for a slightly more compact phone.
Of course, there are differences, such as the X300 Ultra’s greater optical zoom range and special features like multifocal video. However, the attachable telephoto lens is also compatible with the more affordable models in the series.
