Vivo's ultra-premium foldable is one step closer to a global launch

Vivo's X Fold6 has appeared on Indonesia's SDPPI certification database, an early sign that the foldable's global launch may be approaching. The listing is the device's first appearance on any international certification platform since its China debut last month.
The certification shows the Vivo X Fold6 with model number V2559. No specifications are listed, but they are thought to be similar to the Chinese version already on the market. We spotted the same model number listed back in April on Europe’s EEC certification database, but it’s only now thanks to the SDPPI listing that we’ve got confirmation of the device’s final marketing name.
The X Fold6 replaces the X Fold5, which Vivo announced in China back in June. The phone features a foldable 8.02-inch LTPO AMOLED display and a 6.53-inch LTPO AMOLED cover screen. Both panels have an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz, up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, and eye protection features.
The device is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It houses a 7,000mAh BlueVolt battery with support for 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. It runs OriginOS 6 Fold-based Android 16, which includes multitasking tools such as an upgraded Atomic Workbench for the large foldable display.
As for the camera, the X Fold6 features a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ZEISS APO periscope telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera, backed by Vivo's V3+ imaging chip. It supports a telephoto extender accessory and includes a 20MP camera on the outer display and another 20MP sensor on the inner screen.
The device has an IP58 and IP59 rating for dust and water resistance. In China, it is offered in green, white, grey, and black/gold color options.
Vivo touted a global launch of the X Fold6 at its China launch but hasn’t provided a release date or what markets it will come to. A listing in the SDPPI shows Indonesia is among the first markets being evaluated for the global rollout.
