Vivo X Fold6 tipped to challenge Galaxy Z Fold7 with 200 MP camera and Dimensity 9500

Digital Chat Station has weighed in on the state of Vivo's foldable smartphone division. For context, another popular Weibo account claimed earlier this month that the X Fold6 will match or get close to the Honor Magic V6 and its 7,150 mAh battery capacity.
Not only has Digital Chat Station clarified further, but they have revealed a few other surprising details in the process. Writing on Weibo, the leaker reports that the X Fold6 will ship with a 7,000 mAh battery for a circa 16% improvement on the X Fold5. Additionally, the X Fold6 is rumoured to contain the following camera hardware:
- 200 MP primary 'large sensor'
- 50 MP ultra-wide-angle
- 50 MP periscope telephoto
- 20 MP front-facing camera
- 20 MP inner camera
Moreoevr, Digital Chat Station alleges that the X Fold will drop to 6.51-inch and 8.02-inch foldable displays for its 2026 release. Considering that the X Fold5 features 6.51-inch cover and 8.03-inch foldable displays, it seems likely that the X Fold6 will be slightly shorter and narrower than its predecessor too, which measures 159.7 x 72.6 mm, or 159.7 x 142.3 mm when opened.
Moreover, the X Fold6 will maintain wireless charging support and what Digital Chat Station claims is 'top-tier' water resistance. Apparently, Vivo will also switch to MediaTek and its Dimensity 9500 chipset for the X Fold6. A 3 nm chipset, the Dimensity 9500 can already be found in the Find X9, the X300 and their Pro counterparts.
According to our benchmarks, this change should help the X Fold6 get much closer to the performance of the Galaxy Z Fold7 (curr. $1,199 on Amazon) than the X Fold5 manages with its Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. Pricing and availability remain unknown for now though, as does what Vivo's next foldable actually looks like.
