Leaker Digital Chat Station has shed new light on the state of Xiaomi's foldable smartphone division. For context, the company's last foldable was the Mix Flip 2, the global version of which we reviewed in August 2025. Incidentally, Xiaomi released Diamond Limited Edition variants a few days later, but only in China.
Since then, only Motorola has introduced new clamshell foldables in the form of the Razr 70 series globally and the Razr 2026 series in North America. By contrast, Samsung is expected to keep the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE and Galaxy Z Flip7 (curr. $1,036 on Amazon) on shelves until late July. According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi has no plans to follow suit with a successor to the Mix Flip 2.
Writing on Weibo, the leaker asserts that Xiaomi has discontinued its 'compact folding product line'. While Digital Chat Station does not name the Mix Flip series, we can infer that they are referring to this rather than the larger Mix Fold series. Incidentally, Xiaomi has left the Mix Fold series on its fourth generation release for almost two years at this point. A so-called Mix Fold 5 could be in development though, based on recent rumours.
