Shorter than an iPhone 13 mini: Galaxy Z Wide Fold compared months before official Samsung release

Samsung is not expected to release any new foldables until the middle of 2026. Specifically, recent rumours suggest that the Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Z Fold8 and even the Galaxy Z Wide Fold will arrive simultaneously on July 22. In other words, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7 will remain on shelves for just over a year.
In the meantime, Sonny Dickson has got his hands on dummy units for Samsung's next three foldable smartphones. Embedded below, the images emphasise that the Galaxy Z Flip8 will be the tallest of the three at 166.8 mm when unfolded. By contrast, the Galaxy Z Fold8 will come in at 158 mm like the Galaxy Z Fold7 before it (curr. $1,599 on Amazon).

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Wide Fold is noticeably shorter than both its Galaxy Z siblings. According to OnLeaks, Samsung's first Wide-branded foldable will be around 124 mm tall and 161 mm wide. In other words, the Galaxy Z Wide Fold could be about 6% shorter than even the iPhone 13 mini.
This height reduction compared to the Galaxy Z Fold8 is expected to result in the Galaxy Z Wide Fold adopting two rear-facing cameras like the Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy Z Flip smartphones, though. Conversely, the first 'Wide Fold' will be almost as wide as the new Huawei Pura X Max when folded at 82.2 mm.
