Multiple Google Pixel smartphones have been practically unusable since applying the March 2026 update. While Google's latest firmware did not address outstanding bootloop bugs, the company's support team has indicated that will change in May 2026.

Google Pixel owners have had to put up with numerous bugs lately. This month alone, there were reports that current Pixel smartphones were being plagued by serious battery life degradation after applying a recent update.

Shortly before that, the March 2026 update was said to be causing bootloops on the Pixel 10 series, including the Pixel 10, which fared well during our recent six-month review (curr. $549 on Amazon). Reportedly, Google's support team have begun advising affected users that its May 2026 update should resolve these bootloop issues.

Not only that, but the company's support team has invited some Pixel owners to test a beta update in the meantime. However, it is worth noting that an affected smartphone can only be updated when it is running in safe mode.

Also, Google is said to be replacing some smartphones as a goodwill gesture, particularly for those who cannot wait for a future stable update to arrive. Please see the ongoing Issue Tracker post for more information about this ongoing issue.
