Vivo X500 Pro Max may come with camera feature missing on X300 Ultra

Although rumors and leaks about the Vivo X500 series – with the company seemingly skipping the X400 branding – are still rather murky and unreliable, initial details have already emerged based on early information. It remains to be seen whether these enhancements will ultimately make it into production units, but some of them are certainly intriguing.
For instance, it was recently rumored that the Vivo X500 and X500 Pro may no longer share the same chipset and may receive a new camera sensor. Interestingly, this sensor is reportedly a successor to the 1/1.28-inch 50 MP Sony LTY-928 found in the X300 Pro rather than the 1/1.12-inch 200 MP Sony LYT-901 used in the X300 Ultra. Although that’s a bit of a letdown, it does make sense for the newly launched Vivo X300 Ultra to retain some advantages over the X300 Pro’s successor, which is expected to debut in the second half of 2026.
That said, the Vivo X500 Pro could have an edge over the X300 Ultra in at least one area. Leaker Smart Pikachu claims on Weibo that the new Zeiss camera system will support LOFIC technology, the same innovation that enables the Xiaomi 17 Ultra to produce highly dynamic images. The new 50 MP ultrawide camera is expected to be paired with a 200 MP telephoto lens. The Vivo X500 Ultra will potentially carry over the multispectral sensor from the X300 Ultra for more natural colors under challenging conditions.
Another interesting detail from the leaker is that Vivo may follow Apple and Xiaomi by releasing the X500 Pro in two screen sizes, at least in China: a more compact 6.4-inch standard version and a larger 6.9-inch Pro Max variant.
