Leica vs. Zeiss: Xiaomi 18 vs. Vivo X500 camera comparison detailed by leaker

A well-known leaker has now reiterated which camera specs can be expected from the two largest Pro flagships of the next Xiaomi 18 and Vivo X500 generation. Accordingly, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will primarily focus on a 200MP sensor and bring two of them. The main camera is said to be based on a 1/1.28-inch 200MP sensor with the latest LOFIC generation for better dynamic range. The telephoto camera also relies on the power of 200MP, though only with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, roughly 3x zoom, and an f/2.4 aperture. According to the leaker, not only telephoto macro shots with a very short focusing distance are supported, but the sensor and mirror set, likely referring to the periscope module, have also been completely revised.
Vivo, on the other hand, is focusing on different priorities, as another post by the prolific leaker suggests. Accordingly, the MediaTek flagship with a 2nm Dimensity 9600 chipset will continue to use a 50MP Sony sensor, again in a 1/1.28-inch size, but now also with LOFIC technology for even better dynamic range compared to the Vivo X300 Pro, available here on Amazon. At first glance, much also remains the same for the telephoto camera, with a 1/1.4-inch 200MP sensor once again playing the main role. A potentially interesting upgrade concerns the ultra-wide camera, where a larger 50MP IMX8xx sensor could be used if testing is successful.
Possible display spec
In recent hours, Digital Chat Station has also commented on some display specs. According to this Weibo post, the Vivo X500 Pro Max will feature a flat 6.85-inch OLED display with 2.5D glass, 2K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and very thin bezels. The panel is said to come from BOE and reach very high PWM dimming frequencies. The insider had previously commented on the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max as well, which is also expected to use a 6.9-inch panel with similar qualities, but only a 120Hz refresh rate. According to current information, the Xiaomi 18, Vivo X500, and Oppo Find X10 series will launch around the same time this year, at least in China.
