Vivo X500 Pro (Max): Better photo and video quality and features thanks to 2nm chip

While the three previous teasers by Vivo product manager Han Boxiao focused primarily on camera hardware such as the telephoto capabilities of the Vivo X500 Pro and Vivo X500 Pro Max, the CIPA 7 rated stabilization of the Vivo X500 Pro Max’s main camera or the new Sony sensor with a significantly wider dynamic range of 17.5 EV, today’s focus is on the hardware upgrade that will serve as the foundation for many of the X500 series’ innovations this year.
In a way though Han Boxiao is beating around the bush today. This is perfectly understandable, since MediaTek has not yet unveiled the Dimensity 9600 or Dimensity 9600 Pro, so these names and specific specs cannot be mentioned officially just yet. The latest teaser on Weibo does however, confirm a few details such as the fact that these new MediaTek SoCs will be manufactured using the second-generation N2P 2nm process, the same one as Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
In addition to increased efficiency and lower power consumption, Han Boxiao also mentions a brand-new GPU architecture—though this comes as no great surprise, especially since Xiaomi’s Xring O3 launch had already named it. The latest Vivo X500 Pro Max Geekbench leak also provided concrete details on CPU and GPU specs. All that remains is to mention a few photo and video features made possible by the combination of the new MediaTek and Vivo coprocessors, such as 4K Dolby Vision portrait video, 4K 120 fps in 10-bit Log, faster 60 fps autofocus tracking thanks to a faster NPU, and better quality for zoomed-in video recordings.
