Compact Vivo X500 Pro with CIPA 7 APO telephoto confirmed; Vivo X500 Pro Max gets Vivo X300 Ultra Zeiss zoom camera
Hours after Vivo product manager Han Boxiao already revealed many details about the new camera features of the main cameras of the two Vivo X500 Pro flagship models, including the CIPA Level 7 rating of the Vivo X500 Pro Max’s main camera and the many features that come with the new 17.5 EV sensor solution, today’s teasers are all about the telephoto lens. According to a Weibo post, the new flagship model of the X500 series is based on the exact same Samsung 1/1.4-inch ISOCELL HP0 sensor as the Vivo X300 Ultra, which already achieved CIPA Level 7 stabilization back in spring of 2026. So it should come as no surprise that the Vivo X500 Pro Max will also support the Vivo X300 Ultra’s 400mm teleconverter, which transforms the native 85mm focal length into approximately 16.6x zoom with optical image quality.
Even without using a tele-extender, the digital zoom quality with the 200-megapixel sensor is expected to maintain a high level of quality at 170mm and 340mm focal lenghts respectively thanks to the 4x in-sensor zoom. The proven Zeiss APO optics are on board as well; furthermore, Vivo has apparently continued to refine their algorithms, which—in combination with the new 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chip—should enable particularly fast burst shooting. The telephoto is advertised to have a 30x capture rate for snapshots taken every 0.1 seconds.
Compact Vivo X500 Pro with 64-Megapixel APO telephoto
Compared to the Vivo X500 Pro Max, the more compact Vivo X500 Pro will have to make some compromises in terms of camera features. For example, the main camera lacks the 3-degree OIS “gimbal stabilization.” Nevertheless, Vivo promises to offer a Zeiss telephoto lens of comparable quality, as revealed by a second Weibo post from Han Boxiao. As leaks had already suggested, this model features a 64-megapixel Sony Lytia 610 sensor instead of the ISOCELL HP0, which Vivo claims also achieves CIPA Level 7 stabilisation. The special design of this sensor is also said to aid in autofocus subject tracking and will offer 4K120 slow-motion and 4K60 HDR recording. Incidentally, the smaller Vivo X500 Pro model also features Zeiss APO optics.
