Upcoming Zeiss camera flagships appear in every color and with new accessories
Apple here, iPhone Duo there — on the day after the big iPhone 18 launch event, the new iPhones and Apple's first foldable are naturally at the center of everyone's attention. The US smartphones are also making waves in China, but over there Vivo has also revealed a few new snippets of information about the Zeiss camera flagships launching on September 21, this time primarily in the form of images. In China, the Vivo X500 series can already be reserved starting today.

Teleconverter for the Vivo X500
In addition to black and white base models, the significantly upgraded Vivo X500 will also be available in pink and light gray, at least in China. The accessories include a protective case and a teleconverter. We assume this is the smaller 200 mm version introduced earlier this year. Following its launch in China, the Vivo X500 is also expected to arrive in Europe and other global markets like India.

The smaller Pro model will most likely only be available in China, in black, white, grey and orange.

Last but not least, the largest model, the Vivo X500 Pro Max also makes an official appearance with its upgraded Zeiss camera. It is the only model to feature 3-degree OIS for the main camera, which promises a CIPA 7 stabilization rating. However, the colors are the same as those of the smaller Vivo X500 Pro. The Pro Max is also the Pro model expected to arrive internationally.

An official promo video for the top model among the X500 Zeiss camera flagships is effectively an unboxing. In addition to the smartphone itself, the huge box contains two teleconverters: a 200 mm version and a 400 mm version — at least in China. The protective case is once again included and can also be attached to a shoulder strap. The lens ring screws onto it, the two telephoto extenders can then be attached to the ring. The grip turns the smartphone into a proper camera and doubles as an additional battery.
So far, there appears to be no difference from the accessory package offered with devices such as the Vivo X300 Ultra. What is new this time, however, is an ultra-thin 5.65 mm 3.92-inch touchscreen with an integrated 1,180 mAh battery. It attaches magnetically to the back of the Vivo X500 Pro Max or can be used from up to 10 meters away, for example as a selfie monitor for the main camera or as a remote control. Similar devices are also available from third-party manufacturers, but at least in China it will now be included in the complete package as well. We also discovered a first hands-on and unboxing video on Youtube, showing the baidu satellite version available in China with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB of storage, that should be identical to the regular Vivo X500 Pro Max apart from the satellite components. The complete package will apparently be marketed as a "creator edition" in China this time around.
