Apple confirms higher iPhone 18 Pro (Max) battery capacity

Apple typically does not specify battery capacity in its technical specifications. However, through the EU energy label on the Apple Online Store, the company has now officially confirmed how much energy the batteries in the latest iPhones can store. This information applies to the European versions of the smartphones, which support both a nano-SIM and an eSIM.

In the U.S., on the other hand, the iPhone 18 Pro series offers two eSIMs and is likely to use the space saved for a slightly larger battery, as was already the case with the iPhone 17 Pro ($1,150 on Amazon). In Europe, the iPhone 18 Pro comes with a 4,056 mAh battery, representing a 1.7 percent increase in capacity. The iPhone 18 Pro Max even features an 11.7 percent larger battery, with a capacity of 5,391 mAh.

Despite the larger batteries, the new iPhones are exactly the same size as last year’s models and are once again 8.75 millimeters thick. However, the weight increases to 211 grams for the smaller model, and even to 249 grams for the larger flagship, which makes it almost as heavy as the iPhone Duo. According to Apple, battery life has increased by about 10 percent on the iPhone 18 Pro and by as much as 16 percent on the iPhone 18 Pro Max – slightly more than the battery capacity would suggest. This is likely due in no small part to the more efficient Apple A20 Pro ARM chip, which is manufactured using an advanced 2-nm process.
